East Harlem Apartment
This full apartment renovation marked a meaningful transition: after decades of raising a family in the space, the client was ready for a refresh. The design mandate was tropical modern, a nod to Puerto Rican heritage translated into a New York City aesthetic, brought to life through color, warmth, and natural light.
PPA reconfigured the kitchen, doubling both the counter space and storage capacity, and reoriented the layout to capture maximum natural light. Grooved cabinetry in a rich green stain and natural stone floors and countertops ground the vibrant palette. A custom radiator cover anchors the living space, echoing the vertical panel language of the kitchen. At the entry, a reimagined sequence creates a true pause between the apartment and the lobby beyond.
